Well friends, another year has passed us by and it is time to celebrate the good times of this year. I will be at the tattoo shop today

to do some tats and celebrate my new place in the community of Fairbanks!!

SAILOR JERRY COLLINS LIVES ON AT DAVE KNOX'S 907 TATTOO IN FAIRBANKS ALASKA 260-223-3773

 Wow what a blast it is for me to do these traditional designs by Sailor Jerry Collins, What perfection in simplicity his designs are I really give them my best knowing the old man is up there critiquing every part of each tattoo. Well here is my sailor Jerry tattoo story.. One day at Tip Top in Fort Wayne a older gentleman came in to talk tattoos and showed Paul, Ted and I his pin ups that he got in Honolulu  on leave well... they were indeed Sailor Jerry's work done in or around 1972 we asked him who did them but he said he did not remember who did the tattoos or how much they cost. They were very readable still after forty years wear! We pulled one of Kate Hildebrand's Sailor Jerry stencil books and both pin ups were on facing pages in book! We made a copy of both stencils for him and let him know that his tattoos totally rock and were as special as it gets! Thanks to God for blessing me here in Fairbanks. This last month has been interesting to say the least I want to thank my Tattoo friends at Patina Tattoo for their fun stories, stencil paper and for being interested in hiring Me. It was time for me to do my own shop thing here for sure. It's getting closer to the Grand opening of  my new Tattoo shop Dave Knox's 907 Tattoo / Raven Gallery here in downtown Fairbanks on Barnett st and 8th Ave. The Tattoo shop will be at the rear room of the studio and the front room of the shop will be The Raven art gallery, it will showcase fine art and tattoo related art, from Indiana and Alaska. Our first show to be announced will be paintings or art that is 11x14 or smaller in size framed pieces so we can serve as many artist as possible, so get the word out for the upcoming 907 Tattoo grand opening and art show. CIRCLE'S SWISS BIKE AND FLOWER OF LIFE TATTOOS BY DAVE KNOX FAIRBANKS ALASKA 260-223-3773

So my friend Chris rides up to my shop in Fort Wayne on this sweet bike here and I proceed to blast it around parking lot up to 40 mph, I bounce up over the curb and pushed bike into shop and casually asked him how much one would cost, he said it was Swiss made, goes 50 miles on a charge, and cost only $14,000.  Next is a photo myself with my good friend Mark Burtnett the Duke of Canturbury, Mark has the best dang attitude and is a real inspiration to me, he would come visit me most days of the week at Stumpp and I's shop Device Tattoo here in Marketplace of Canturbury. Here is Darin's flower of life Tattoo we did one cold day in Indiana with Chris. Chris I hope you are well and hope to see you soon. The last photo is the green dragon tattoo, the lines and color were done with a loose 5 round in a disposable tube of course! Tattoo is quite clean and solid with a complimentary drop shadow.

1959 TRIUMPH BONNEVILLE 650 PRE-UNIT CAFE RACER PROJECT..TIME TO ROCK+ROLL!!

Well we have been in Alaska for a year and a half and I have totally neglected my bike that is neatly packed away still from the move from Indiana July before last! It has been a while since I have seen these photo's, dang I hand picked through a lot of triumph parts to get this unique combination of  hardware. Body work is off a vintage 66 TT flat tracker that I got from the famous Jim Bailey, he can wheelie a dresser as long as he wants to and is about 300 lbs! totally a Rollie Free bigger than life dude. Engine cases are alternator type and are highly polished by Terrible Tom from Fort Wayne Indiana my good friend for many years. Flywheels are shaved and balanced and are out of my 67 TT120 motor. Head is 1967 TT with 1/3/16" intake ports. Transmission is 1958 slick shift also with polished cases. Frame is 1959 Triumph pre-unit single downtube model.Wheels are from a 1972 Triumph Bonneville and are tight and true 19" front and 18" rear. Front end is 1972 late type dual action drum brake with cone hub. Well it's time to open some boxes and get back to work!

DAVE KNOX'S NEW ART GALLERY AND TATTOO SHOP NOW UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Been hard at it trying to find the correct attire and funiture for the new shop while

collecting small art pieces for the gallery side of the shop from my artist friends. Well my friend Jason and his wife are heading back to Fresno here is a photo of him with with me and another with my assistant Evan, we will miss ya bro! Since I am not up and running yet I want to lift up my good friend Adam and his wife Randi from Larwill Indiana he and I stuck with it on this sleeve and thanks again for all the good times and triumph parts!

Well folks it's official! I have secured a location on Barnett street in Fairbanks Alaska. Thanks to my friend Steve Mennima for his biblical advice through this entire journey , and for my

financial providers you know who you are!! and Russ and Mike, the real estate experts! I have my God to thank for making this week the blessed whirlwind that it was, from not know where I would be working one moment to having a warm spot in the downtown area to start tattooing soon, and to being blessed to be included to worship with my friend Walter at Mt Pleasant Church for their prayer service and what a time of Amazing Worship! Did a free little candy skull on Michelle, my friend Jason's wife. Mr Jinx  got his release and decided it was time's up for me at his little shop, I want to thank him for letting me work at his shop on Airport way for the past year and a half! I also want to thank some new good friends, my clients here in Alaska for the financial support, and for pushing me to keep on tattooing here in Fairbanks. I have been able to witness God working through all this, and He is who provides all things..

QUALITY TATTOOING WITH DISPOSABLE PLASTIC SINGLE USE TUBES BY DAVE KNOX FAIRBANKS ALASKA

I am always harping to my tattoo friends about disposable equipment and the benefits of their use. Did you know that many professional tattooers will only use their steel tubes that they have to clean, rinse, package, and sterilize daily. Time is money and I have spent way too many hours in the back of tattoo shops doing just that when I could have been enjoying time with my family.  My clients see that these tubes I take out of the package in front of them are new, sterilized, and single use only.

 I have been using these type tubes for six years now and I will never go back to the reusable type. I also shot a photo of my work station setup, disposable sterilized tattoo tubes and some dragonfly machines I am currently using for liner and shader.

Did the last details on my good friend Adam last week and wow! this tattoo really came together with our mesh of ideas from the both of us. The use of tribal tattooing really works with this lion design and the clouds help to create a sense of movement. Next is Chenoa's statement of Faith tattoo, she called and I had drawn up the design while she was on  the way to shop.

Got a new friend in Jason, visiting Fairbanks for the first time we have had some good talks getting to know one another, he has been trying to get with me for a month so I did a free original Fairbanks banger skull in the Gill Monte Style. Next is Tabatha, we did parallel lines around  her forearm and some inspirational words on her wrist and arm.

Had a fantastic day at work with Mike McNabb today, he rocked out some sweet tattoos today, made some local friends very happy. Mike was my first client, we got some more good foundation work on his right lower sleeve it is coming together nicely. Next is Kelli she had me draw up this sweet triangle design for her entire spine area, with another photo in progress, great job hanging in there Kelli! Had a good time connecting to other shops and tattooers from Fairbanks this week.

Did a Skull flame design for my friend JR today, had the itch do really blow out a bright, clean, tattoo. Did a banger for my assistant Evan today, he wanted midwest on his feet. He drew up design and we had fun blasting it out. To my surprise I gave him a free party dot above his tattoo. I really wasn't trying for that ha ha. We had a good laugh after i tried vigorously to scrubb it off.

Met this nice young guy Robert that came into the shop to see me about his first tattoo. After doing much Google research he decided that I was the most experienced artist in Fairbanks to do his cross tattoo. This happened immediately after I was ordered by the shop owners that my little wooden cross was NOT welcome on the front door of the tattoo shop I am overlooking. Hmmmmm. Being able to serve a fellow christian I drew up this design for him and we came to a agreement on price. After getting tattoo done I decided that this was one of my finest cross tattoos ever! God blessed me with another new friend in Christ that has the heart to serve others. Thank-you Lord for the chance to witness the
power of your holy spirit!

Did a rose tattoo with feathers for Tatum on Thursday and she paid for her friend Bailey's Rose tattoo we did today and was her first tattoo. Now that is a friend! Also did a tattoo of Maggie's parents names and a wedding date for her husband. Hey check out this painting that was graciously given to me as a tip by By my friend Ben. NICE!! THANKS !

Rocked out this sweet tattoo today on Christopher of a unicorn with the ole grim reaper onboard. Next did some small stars on Diamont'e behind her right ear. Another fun day!
